VO2 Max tests are important for endurance sport athletes, as they can help coaches to design, and modify training programs, as well as track progress. Sport scientists can tell a lot about a person by having them perform a VO2 max test.
With our VO2 Max metabolic testing, we measure your own unique metabolism, cardiovascular and respiratory condition, cellular health, fat burning zone and calories you burn per day.
Metabolic tests measure the amount of oxygen you inhale and the carbon dioxide you exhale to determine the rate at which your body burns calories and uses oxygen at rest or during different activities. Some of the data from these tests includes:
- VO2 Max – the max amount of oxygen your body can use during exercise.
- Resting Metabolic Rate – the number of calories your body burns at rest.
- Metabolic Efficiency – How well your body uses fat as a fuel source
This information is then analysed and presented to you in an easy-to-read report along with recommendations on how to structure any training or workouts so you get maximum efficiency from your exercise program.
